Lyle Marshall gave up the security of an executive civil service position to engage in a law practice and two businesses because he believes that blacks in America need to engage in businesses more in order to enter the mainstream of American life. Despite some setbacks he never looked back and never regretted his decision, and he hopes this book will inspire others to enter the business world.

My Journey from Born in 1925 Harlem to "Living the Dream" eBook Lyle Marshall

Mr. Marshall's straightforward description of his experience growing up and thriving in the face of constant discrimination fascinated me. He simply stated the facts while weaving his stories and those of his family, friends, colleagues and adversaries into a walk through twentieth century America. His decision to leave the safe haven of a government job (once he was finally allowed into that arena) is a tribute to his courage and his desire to help pave the path of success for others.

I highly recommend this book to a wide assortment of readers especially those interested in history, tax, law and family relations as well as those looking for a role model. His references to other books, such as Ivan Houston's Black Warriors: The Buffalo Soldiers of World War II, assist in getting these too often overlooked parts of the American experience into the public eye.

My Journey from Born in 1925 Harlem to "Living the Dream" eBook Lyle Marshall Reviews

Lyle Marshall is an inspiring person who has been through many obstacles in his life. I was privileged to meet Lyle and his wife Rita when he solicited my services to type the first draft of this book and learn about his unique journey. His life depicts his determination to successfully resolve issues satisfactorily and keep going, no matter what. I admire his many skills and accomplishments, the latest being an author of this book. My hat's off to him.
Amazing climb by an ambitious extremely intelligent young man who wouldn't take 'no' for a answer. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the struggles of first generation Americans in 20th century New York City.
Mr. Marshall's book is an excellent example of an African American Man who has "Lived a Life That Matters." He continues to do so and his very interesting book confirms that by recounting his bio through his" Life's Journey." Marshall provides a practical and down to earth look at his life while highlighting historical/current obstacles and opportunities faced by all African Americans. In the book he offers personal views and opinions on the path for financial success and wealth. The content of this book will have a positive social impact especially on the lives of countless African Americans including young African American men and women, who like me, are pleased to have the life of Mr. Marshall and his family as excellent role models.
If you want to win, read tis book. Lyle tells you good insite on how to suceed. I'll be encouraging all my friends and family to read it.
